Mircea Abrudean reveals details about the upcoming wage law and public consultation
During a recent statement, Mircea Abrudean announced that the new wage law will undergo a three-week public consultation period. This consultation aims to involve all relevant parties in the decision-making process.
Abrudean emphasized the longstanding discussions surrounding this normative act, dating back to 2022. He highlighted the significant financial implications, with 770 million euros allocated since 2022. Discussions have taken place with various stakeholders, including the World Bank, which provided valuable insights and recommendations.
While acknowledging that the new law may not meet the expectations of every professional category, Abrudean assured that the fundamental principle of maintaining current income levels remains intact. However, he confirmed that certain bonuses will be subject to reductions.
Of the 151 existing bonuses, 87 will see reductions, and a new provision will limit bonuses to a maximum of 20% of the gross salary. Abrudean described these adjustments as necessary and reasonable measures to ensure financial sustainability.
Furthermore, Abrudean underscored the importance of the agreement reached among former coalition parties regarding the adoption of the law. He emphasized the necessity of cooperation, especially in the current climate of political instability.
