Ilie Bolojan Urges Parliament to Pass Crucial Laws for Accessing 10 Billion Euros from PNRR

In a compelling message posted on Facebook on Monday morning, Ilie Bolojan emphasized the importance of accessing European funds for Romania’s development. The 10 billion euros allocated through the PNRR program, which must be accessed by August, constitute a significant portion of the country’s public investments.

Bolojan highlighted the key areas that would benefit from this funding, including the construction of essential infrastructure such as highways (such as the Moldovian Highway), schools, hospitals, railway electrification projects, and the renovation of public buildings. These projects not only transform local communities but also contribute to regional development.

The Prime Minister outlined the necessary reforms that Romania must undertake to qualify for these funds. He emphasized the importance of meeting specific conditions, known as milestones, and stated that several dozen milestones must be achieved by the summer deadline. Failure to meet these milestones could result in the loss of funding.

Bolojan pointed out that the approval of nine critical laws by parliament is essential to secure over 7 billion euros. These laws are designed to regulate various sectors, including public sector salaries, fiscal policies, and energy matters. The parliamentary vote on these laws will serve as a test of responsibility for the Romanian political class.

Ensuring the successful access to European funds, meeting milestones, completing investments, disbursing payments to beneficiaries, finalizing projects, and receiving approvals are among the government’s top priorities in the upcoming period, according to Ilie Bolojan.
